Movie Verdict

We’ve seen a lot of historical films throughout the years, and what’s great about them is that they teach people about unsung heroes. The movie is about Prithviraj Chauhan, the greatest king of the Chauhan dynasty, and his virtue and valour in the war field, and the makers have succeeded to some extent in showing his bravery, but if we talk about the story as a cinematic experience, the film starts off well but the graph falls flat.

Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan is outstanding. We can’t think of anything negative to say about his performance, however his makeup could have been better in most scenes. Sonu Sood’s performance as Chand is adequate, and Manushi Chillar made her acting debut with this film, and while she looks wonderful as a princess, there isn’t much place for her to shine, and the rest of the cast did an admirable job.

Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the ship’s captain, only partially succeeded in making the film because he might have created a tighter screenplay that would have kept the audience engaged. He focused mostly on his boldness, which worked well, but he failed to wow the audience as a director.

Samrat Prithviraj’s production values are superb, while Manushnandan’s graphics are good but could have been better. Shankar-Ehsaan-music Loy’s is one of the film’s main backbones; their background score never disappoints, and in Prithviraj, they salvaged a lot of sequences with their background music, and the rest of the cast performed wonderfully.

Finally, Samrat Prithviraj is a one-time film that you should see if you like Akshay Kumar.
