Kalyan Ram was born into a well-known Nandamuri family in the Telugu film business on July 5, 1978, in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. He resides in the Cancerian sign. Kalyan Ram enrolled at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois, to pursue a Master of Science (M.Sc.). He then finished acting classes to strengthen his acting abilities.
Kalyan Ram made his acting debut in the Ramoji Rao-produced film Toli Choopulone in 2003. Abhimanyu (2004), directed by Ashwini Dutt, was his subsequent film. His film career was not hindered by his first two failures. He founded his own business in 2005 under the name N.T.R. Arts, honoring his famous grandpa NTR, which produces and directs the movie Athanokkade. Kalyan Ram stunned both the general public and the film industry with this flick.
