In 1992, when he was just 21 years old, Ajith made his first movie appearance in the Telugu film Prema Pustagam. His next movie, Amaravathi, was a huge hit in the Tamil language. The premiere of his second Tamil movie, Pavithra, had to be put off for 17 months because he hurt himself while racing and couldn’t move. Both movies got a lot of praise and admiration from the people of Tamil. Mani Rathnam produced and directed his third Tamil movie, Aasai.
